Laura & Luna's Story

After some time processing the loss of her first rescue dog, Laura decided to explore the pet adoption route again.

When Laura visited Blue Cross Animals Society of Victoria in December 2021, she knew instantly that Luna - an adolescent Malamute cross Staffy - was the one.

“I was drawn to Looney’s profile as she had these big dog eyes and cheeky face! I knew she was the dog for me, and she came home with me that day,” said Laura.

Luna took time to adjust into her new homelife and sadly, there was some indication that she had previously been abused.

Laura said that Luna has come a long way, and provides her with unconditional love, comfort and support.

“There’s been a lot of work put in with her over the last year, but it’s been the best thing - so rewarding and worth it! I’ve had a difficult year and Luna’s been the best support throughout. She has taught me so much about unconditional love , and has kept me smiling at all the funny and goofy things she does,” said Laura.

“She’s super intuitive and will put her paw on me if she sees I'm stressed or sad and is incredibly loyal and loving. I couldn’t imagine life without her - Rescue dogs are some of the best. She is very special and I’m so glad to have her in my home.”
